Dr. Katie has helped young women for the last 15 years learn who they are and who they want to become. Passionate about Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Katie assesses every aspect of her client’s lifestyle - physical, emotional, relational, spiritual and mental health. She helps her client’s develop new habits that will improve their lives and help them reach their goals.

Mental health is not one size fits all and there are 100s of approaches. The key is finding the right therapist connection where you feel heard and understood. Specializing in teen girls and young women, Katie knows the culture - technology, dating, academics, transitions, dealing with parents, figuring out college & careers and much more.

Dr. Katie is not your typical therapist… she spent years in the corporate sales and marketing world and has an understanding of what life can be like in a variety of work environments. As a business owner she also knows the challenge of living out your dream. Her personal passion is wellness and she has learned how the combination of living a healthy lifestyle, building authentic relationships and connecting to your soul will improve your mental health.

Always an athlete and lover of health and fitness, Katie played volleyball at Stetson University and ultimately transferred to Penn State university receiving a BS in Human Development & Family Studies. After a long break working in the corporate world and then small businesses she went on to obtain an MS in professional counseling from Southeastern University. After years of private practice specializing in girls, she decided to pursue her doctorate in marriage and family therapy from Liberty University.

Discontented by the traditional therapeutic model for counseling services, Dr. Katie determined there had to be a better way to service clients and their mental health needs. Too often therapy is overly-centered on problems, instead of truly learning how to build resiliency so that one is able to handle the problems and stressors they will inevitably confront in life.

Young women are facing many cultural challenges (social, academic, family, career etc…) and sadly develop an internal narrative that is often critical, harsh, negative and lacks self-confidence. The over emphasis on problems can cause young women to become unknowingly self-absorbed. The constant dwelling on the bad, the negative and their problems robs them from living a life of purpose and joy. Dr. Katie uses a coaching-oriented approach to mental health that assesses 5 core areas of development - relational, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. She coaches clients to build a healthier relationship with themselves and others.
